Skerwink Trail
03
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful hikes in the world, in 2003 the Skerwink was ranked by Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the top trails in North America and Europe.
The trail is a moderate to difficult 5.3-km loop coastal trail featuring spectacular views of sea stacks, whales, icebergs, and eagles, as well as the communities of Port Rexton and Trinity. Don’t expect to hike quickly once you reach the coast.
At every step, there’s a sea stack, a beach or a rugged cliff face to wow your senses. You could easily spend the day here photographing the beauty of Mother Nature at its best.

Historic Bonavista
08
Bonavista is one of the most photographed areas in the province. The Italian explorer Giovanni Caboto (or John Cabot as he is locally known) discovered North America in 1497. His first words are said to have been “O buono vista!” or ” Oh beautiful view!” if your Italian is a bit rusty.
Rocky shores, pebbled beaches and picturesque fishing boats line small formations of houses, new and old. At the Ryan Premises National Historic Site and the Bonavista Museum you will learn the history of the salt fish trade – the cornerstone of Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy for centuries.
Travel time from the Clarenville Inn is 90 minutes, but you may want to allow quite a bit more time to explore the many sights along the way.

Historic Trinity
Trinity is one of the most authentic outport gems found in Newfoundland and Labrador. The authenticity is woven into every aspect of the Trinity area, from the beautifully restored fishing rooms and saltbox houses to the lovely people greeting you in the lanes and welcoming you into their homes.
Houses, museums, art galleries, and other historic buildings are perfectly preserved from the 18th century. Hiking trails like the nearby Skerwink Trail bring you to rolling granite slopes and spectacular beaches. You can also take boat tours to experience the beautiful landscape, as well as spot birds, whales, and icebergs.
Travel time from the Clarenville Inn to the Town of Trinity is just 58 minutes, with lots of stunning stops along the way.
